Looking back on a press trip

Édile Consulting organized a trip to Qatar for about ten journalists: four days dedicated to cultural, culinary and tourism heritage.

The press trip is an integral part of Édile Consulting's work; it is, in many ways, the high point of our mission. The idea is to present journalists from a range of media outlets with one or several facets of a country, built around a theme agreed with the client.

These working trips offer a chance to step back and test preconceptions against reality on the ground. And, let's be honest, the goal is also to secure editorial coverage and media pickup.

Édile Consulting therefore organized a trip to Qatar for around ten willing journalists: four days dedicated to discovering the cultural, culinary and tourism heritage of a country that has, for many years now, invested heavily in welcoming visitors from around the world.

During the trip, we visited the National Museum ("the desert rose"), the Museum of Islamic Art, Banana Island, the UNESCO World Heritage archaeological site of Al Zubarah and its fort, the Sealine desert, Olafur Eliasson's artwork set in the middle of the desert, the Katara Cultural Village, and Lusail Boulevard, among other stops. It was a trip that blended architectural heritage with cultural modernity, where the classical and the contemporary meet, in a country of extraordinary cultural, culinary and heritage riches.
